77The earliest information I have on McKee is Abner "Eben" McKee (abt 1777- abt 1855) married Sarah Hazel (1790-1873) about 1809 and they lived in southwestern Pennsylvania (Fayette County) in 1810.  Eben may have been from Delaware and Sarah may have been from Maryland.  They migrated to Wayne Co & Holmes Co Ohio in the 1820s, where 5th (of 6) child George W. McKee (1829-1910) was born.  They moved to Marion Co, IN in the 1830s and then to Center Grove, Atchison County, MO in 1847.  George McKee met/married Nancy Ann Ross (1834-1917) in the Atchison/Holt County area of Missouri.  Martha Frances McKee was the 4th of 10 children born to George & Nancy McKee.

1111The Ross connections trace back families (Ross, Jackson, Cummins, Gilbert) living in Guilford County, North Carolina in the 1700s.  Robert K. Ross (1809-1899) was a young man when his family moved to Carroll County, Tennessee.  There he met/married Jane Bird (1815-1876) in 1831.  In 1843, they joined the LDS (Mormon) Church and joined the other church members at Nauvoo, Illinois.  In 1844-45 this was the site of the Mormon War and Exodus.  The Mormons began moving west across Iowa & Nebraska on their way to Utah.  From the book "Melvin Ross and Rebecca (Smith) Ross, Their Ancestors and Descendants", it says about Robert & Jane Ross: "They moved to Iowa with the other Mormons, preparing to go to Utah.  He claims the Lord talked to him and told him he was going the wrong way, so he turned around and took his family back to MO."  They settled north of Mound City, Holt County Missouri and later joined the RLDS Church.  Nancy Ann Ross was the 3rd of their 15 children.
