v2 v3 3 3 [[PageOutline(1-2,Page Contents)]] 4 4 5 == Ancestry ==5 == Rogers Ancestry == 6 6 7 7 The Rogers line consists of families that were settlers in the 1700s in North Carolina, Virginia and eventually Kentucky. The Rogers have been traced back into England, Scotland, and even back to the Normans in Europe in the 1200s as "Fitz Rogers" (the Normans "northmen" in France originated from the Vikings --- the Normans conquered England by 1100, so that is probably how the Rogers line went to England/Scotland). 9 9 But back to the US...the immigration from England to North Carolina was about 1700. Calvin Matthew Rogers (1823-1886) was born to Jacob Calvin Rogers (1894-1855) and Precious Jane Lovelace (1891-1855). Jacob & Precious Rogers were from Nelson County KY and moved to Hardin County KY after they married. Calvin was their 7th of 10 children. Calvin married Elizabeth Woodring (1824-1913) in Hardin County KY and they had 7 children while there. They moved to Gentry County MO about 1857 and had 3 more children. Elizabeth's parents and siblings also moved to Gentry Co, as did a few of Calvin's siblings. Sarah Hannah Rogers (1855-1933) was their 5th child and she married John Jasper Teel in Gentry Co in 1872. 10 10 11 == Woodring Ancestry == 12 13 Benjamin Woodring (1796-1877) and Mary Elizabeth Daughter (1802-1874) had 8 children and lived in Hardin County Kentucky. Elizabeth was the oldest of 8 children, and Benj & Mary Woodring moved to Gentry Co in 1857 when their daughter & her family moved there. 14 11 15 == Links == 12 16
