Frantisek "Frank" Vap Sr. was born in Horni Loucky, Moravia in 1840 to Ignac Vap Sr and Frantiska Mazourova (Mazour).

Frank and family came to the US in 1886 and settled in Rawlins County, Kansas.

Oklahoma

Frank and most of the family moved to Oklahoma in 1895.

Death

Frank died 21-Apr-1911 and is buried at St. Mary's Cem, Ponca City, Kay Co, OK.

Obituary

Frank Vap, Sr. died at his home at Kildare, Okla. on April 21st, 1911 at the age of 71 years and 1 month. Deceased was born on March 21st at Horni Loucky, Moravi where he spent his early days.

In the Spring of 1886 he came to Rawlins County, locating nine miles north of Atwood Kans, where he resided until the fall of 1895 when he and his family moved to Kildare, Okla. where they have resided since.

He was twice married. His first wife was Miss Mary Cadlek, who departed this life Aug. 1st 1881. In 1882 he was married to Miss Fannie Naska who still survives him.

He was the father of twelve children, ten of whom are still living. They are: Louis and Fred Vap of Atwood, Kansas, Mrs. J. H. Cloe of Blakeman, Ks, Mrs. Joseph Pettera and Mrs. Frank Pitner of Herndon, Ks, Mr. Joe Vap of Gracemont, Okla., Mrs. Frank Malon and Frank Vap of Kildare, Okla., and Enoch and Rose who still live at home. He also leaves three sisters and one brother.

He was a kind and loving husband, father and brother who will be greatly missed by one and all. The funeral services were held Sunday morning at the Catholic Church at Ponca City, Okla. A large number of friends and neighbors among whom he had lived so long and so well, attended the services as a last tribute of respect to their departed friend and the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at Ponca City there to await the call of the Master on the last great day.
